| In order
to promote the nurturing of their country's human resources, some
countries have been dispatching students on scholarships sponsored
by their own government to Japan in recent years, asking the Japanese
government to cooperate in their acceptance.
These students fall under the 'privately financed foreign student'
category in terms of financing. However, so that it can actively promote
international cooperation to the countries involved, the Japanese
government administers such cooperation as mediating the acceptance
of the students in preparatory educations (for Japanese-language study,
etc.) and universities.
The Japanese government currently provides the governments of Malaysia
and Indonesia with yen loans for use as funds as part of each country's
government-sponsored study-in-Japan fund. Japan also provides necessary
cooperation, such as preparatory educations of Japanese language or acceptance
to the universities to these countries and Thailand, Singapore, the United
Arab Emirates, Kuwait and Uzbekistan regarding the acceptance of students
on scholarships sponsored by their own governments.
Furthermore, Japan provides support such as preparatory educations
for prospective students in China (Changchun, Jilin) and Malaysia
prior to their departure for studies in Japan. |
